Our Strict Safety Protocols in Woodbridge, VA
Most procedures will require your pet to be placed under general anesthesia. Our team will always assess your pet’s health, though our protocol varies depending on their age.
If your pet is 7 years and older, we will perform a physical examination and a complete blood screening. If your pet is 7 years or younger, we recommend pre-anesthetic blood work. We abide by these guidelines to check for any internal issues such as clotting disorders, liver and kidney abnormalities and anemia to help reduce any risks to their overall health.
We will also place an intravenous catheter to deliver fluids, and maintain hydration and normal blood pressure during the surgery.
Pain Management and Post-Operative Care
In addition to ensuring your pet’s safety, we also hold their comfort as our top priority. No one wants to see their pet in pain, which is why we provide pain management protocols throughout the surgical process to prevent any discomfort or reduce pain as much as possible. Our team is happy to take the time to inform you about the appropriate post-operative care as well, so your pet can have a swift and successful recovery with minimal discomfort.
